Stage I - Round Robin Tournament
1. The format of each match - 56 minutes session using the Jacobi rule.
2. Timing for each game - 3 min + 15 sec. for online games and 3 min. + 13 sec. for offline games. All online sessions are held on the Galaxy platform.
3. If the player's time runs out and the cube is not active the game is considered to be lost by one point.
If the cube is active, it means that the player lost a single game (if he managed to throw out at least one checker) by gammon or backgammon depending on the distribution of his checkers on the board (if the losing player has not thrown out any checker).
4. If a player theoretically cannot lose by gammon or backgammon, he has the right to stop the clock and admit defeat (lose 1 point). The player also has the right to admit defeat by gammon if backgammon is theoretically impossible.
5. The maximum number of points won (lost) in one game is 16. The exception is the 8-cube backgammon.
6. If the total time of the game session exceeds 56 minutes, the current game is considered to be the last in this session.
7. Illegal moves are not available. In offline games in TV studio the transcriber of the match will interrupt the match if illegal move will be done and then after correct move the game will be continued.
8. Each player is personally responsible for his internet connection. If a player loses internet connection, he will be given a loss with Galaxy score. Then during the last part of the session, he will be given a one-point loss every 4 minutes until 56 minutes have passed.
9. If a situation arises when the Galaxy platform freezes and there is no technical possibility to finish the current game, then in this case this game is cancelled regardless of the position on the board. The only exception is a theoretical (100%) winning position. If in the remaining time on Galaxy there is still no technical possibility to continue the game, then in this case the final score of the session will be fixed at the time of the last game played.
10. The final decision on any controversial situation is made by the Chief Judge.
11. The result of the match (session) for each of participants is the arithmetic balance between the points won and lost at the end of the session. This result is entered for each player in the current tournament table of the round robin stage. The final result for each player at the end of the round robin stage is the arithmetic sum of his results in each round.
12. If a player withdraws from the tournament at the round robin stage, then:
• if the player has played less than 50% of the sessions, the results of all his matches played will be canceled;
• if the player has played 50% of the sessions or more, then the results of all his matches played remain unchanged and in all unplayed matches he will be recorded as losing with a score of 0:5.
13. Based on the results of the first stage, the top 4 players advance to the second stage - the playoffs.
13.1. In case of two or more players have the same final balance, the decision on getting into the playoffs is made based on the best indicator of winning points.
13.2. In case of equality of these indicators, the further decision is made based on the balance of personal meetings.
13.3. In case of equality of the balance of personal meetings, the further decision is made based on the indicator of the total number of sessions won.
14. The first stage schedule includes two matches per week so the total time of the first round robin stage is 14 weeks (28 matches in total).
